JUDGES INFO

HI THERE!

This page contains info for prospective judges and judges who have already signed on. Thanks for taking the time to read through this stuff!

OUR GOAL

Making comics has always been a collaborative art form. For many creators, the process of working with a team to bring a story to life is the most rewarding part of the experience. 5x5 Fest is our way of promoting collaboration among indie comic creators. We think the the constraints (time limit, page count, and required use of prop, setting, and dialogue) will create a fun and challenging way to exercise creative teamwork.

We believe this can be an opportunity for you to connect with up-and-coming creators, and build your audience. We are always posting on social media, not just about our projects, but the projects of judges and sponsors as well. Plus our email list and podcast can bring even more attention to you and your work.

Our 2017 Competition was a huge success with over 300 submissions from all over the world. We had some amazing judges and sponsors come on board. You can read a recap of the 2017 Competition HERE. We think 5x5 Fest will continue to grow our reach.

JUDGING PROCESS

Submissions for the 5 Day period will open on Feb 7th and close on Fed 12th, so we won't need to start the judging process until then. We don't know how many teams will enroll, but if it's an overwhelming amount, we will filter through them internally before sending them your way. We don't want to swamp you with comics.

CREDITS

If there are any specific credits you want under your name let us know. And if there is a particular photo you'd like us to use, send it over.

SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING

Once enrollment is open, we will be spreading the word on social media, comic websites, and putting out ads around the webs. If you want to help spread the word, we can keep you in the loop with any promotions we are doing. Any tweets and tags are greatly appreciated. And let us know if there is anything you're working on that you'd like us to share.

If you don't want your name or picture included in the marketing materials, let us know.
